It was at BBC Radio Stoke that we first heard Katie as her early Breakfast Programme used to be shared with Staffordshire, Shropshire Cheshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
It wasn't all behind a microphone though, as for 15 years Katie worked in Agriculture, with Dairy Cows to be exact so you could say she has taken the scenic route to Radio ! but it's thanks to an appearance on Radio 4's Today Programme with the BBC's Bill Turnbull that she's here - long story, but she tells us it involved a cow, a piece of chocolate and a huge chunk of luck !
Away from the microphone Katie lives with Glyn in a three hundred year old cottage with Tess the failed Sheepdog and one year old Libby who continues Katie's life-long love of Golden Retrievers.
